Help & FAQ

Getting started
What is Split?

Split takes your paycheck and automatically divides it across your bills, savings, and investments, so every dollar has a job the moment it lands. It's a money system that runs itself.

How does the paycheck split work?

Type in your take-home pay on the Split tab. Split covers your bills first, fills your safety net, then flows the rest into investments based on your style. Tap "Log this paycheck" to lock it in and watch your net worth climb.

What's the "safety net"?

It's your emergency cushion. We aim for 6 months of expenses in savings before pushing harder into investments. While you're building it, more of each check goes to savings. Once it's full, more flows into growth.

Your money
Does Split move or invest my money for me?

No. Split is your guide and tracker: it shows you exactly where your money should go, but you make the actual transfers and investments in your own bank and brokerage. You're always in full control.

Can I change my investing style?

Anytime. Open Settings (the gear icon) and slide the Investing Style from Very Conservative to Aggressive. Your bills and safety net are always funded first, on every setting.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your information is stored securely in the cloud and locked to your account. Only you can see your own numbers. We never sell your data.

You'll be taken to secure checkout. Split never moves your money or makes trades. It organizes and tracks, and you stay in control.
Renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings or by emailing support@splitmoney.app.

Track a crypto
wallet.

Paste a public address from a wallet you control. Split reads its balance straight from the blockchain. Read-only, always.

Public address only. Split never asks for a private key or seed phrase, and never will. Anyone who asks for yours is trying to steal from you.
From an exchange? A deposit address there will read $0. The exchange holds the coins.
Tracks wallets you hold the keys to, using public blockchain data only. Split can never move, spend, or trade your crypto. Coins on an exchange sit in the exchange's wallet, so add those under Crypto in Investments.

How should the rest split?

Bills always come out first. Change this any time.

Changing your style changes how future paychecks split, and your projections with them. Tap one to see it applied before you keep it.
Nothing is saved until you keep it or log a paycheck.

How we calculate this

Estimated dates assume your current pace continues, and will move as your balances and saving change.
Estimates assume a 7% average annual return after inflation, and your current saving pace.
Your target is 25× today’s expenses, so both sides are in today’s dollars.
Projections are for guidance only, not a guarantee or financial advice.
